Care and attention needed on roads

An elderly pedestrian was killed in a car crash; it was barely reported in the news. Paul makes a plea to the public to stop accepting car crashes as an inevitable and acceptable part of society. An invitation is sent out to participate in a local car crash story testimony book: The Faces Behind the Figures B.C. edition.

Loss of future earning capacity recognized

Our Court of Appeal, in a decision released February 9, 2012, has given its endorsement to an important application of common sense by a trial judge. The injured victim, Ms. Morlan, was 46 years old at the time she was injured. She was 50 years old at the time of the trial that took place in Vancouver in November, 2010.… (more…)

Simple first step to driving safety: walk to work

I took another step this morning in a campaign I have initiated to prevent car crashes. I am cautiously optimistic that the campaign, “One crash is too many”, will have a positive impact on driver attitudes and correspondingly reduce crash related injuries and deaths. I am straying way off topic this week. Consider it a public service message. I hope to save some folks a bit of money. It has to do with travelling with a child when one or both parents are not along for the trip. To prevent child abductions, border officials will want to know that both parents have consented.
